Overview

3-Axis Inclination Monitoring for Infrastructure

The Wireless Tiltmeter is a compact, 3-axis inclinometer built for long-term, unattended monitoring of slopes, structures, rail tracks and tunnelling works. It reports high-resolution inclination values plus measurement uncertainty to support noise filtering and trustworthy trend analysis.

Available in two variants — XHP with external antenna for maximum range in high-precision applications, and IR with internal antenna for compact, vandal-resistant installations such as rail track monitoring.

Operational Modes

Tiltmeter Operational Modes

The Tiltmeter lets you choose between operational modes in addition to periodic readings so you can tailor data collection to your project needs. These modes optimize workflows, extend battery life, and reduce the number of devices required in the field.

Triggered Measurements mode
Triggered Measurements Mode

Capture Measurements Exactly When Movement Matters

The Tiltmeter's motion detection sensor actively monitors changes in angle, angular velocity, and acceleration. When a significant movement is detected, it triggers the primary sensor to capture detailed measurements, exactly when you need them.

You can customize when and how many measurements are taken (on event, after event, both, or across multiple events) and set delays and cooldown periods to match your monitoring needs.

This intelligent mode reduces unnecessary data transmission, keeps battery consumption low, and focuses on the movements that matter most, giving you actionable insights without overloading your system.

Event Detection Mode

Instant Alerts When Thresholds Are Exceeded

The Tiltmeter continuously monitors tilt at 3.9 Hz, instantly checking measurements against configurable thresholds.

If a threshold is exceeded, the system sends an alert in under 2 seconds and automatically increases reporting frequency to capture detailed data during the event. Once the movement stabilizes, monitoring returns to its standard reporting interval, ensuring efficient, focused, and timely insights.

A Tiltmeter measures small changes in an object's inclination — rotation, settlement, track cant or slow tilt of slopes and structures. It reveals gradual trends and sudden shifts that indicate instability or misalignment.

Precision MEMS accelerometers sense the gravity vector and temperature. Onboard firmware converts those signals into angle values with compensation and filtering, timestamps each sample, and forwards readings to your gateway or cloud for analysis.

Tiltmeters capture very small, repeatable changes — much smaller than what the human eye detects. With ±0.0001° resolution and repeatability as low as <0.0003°, they are suitable for the most demanding engineering applications.

The device runs in low-power modes and can operate unattended for up to 10 years at typical reporting intervals. Batteries are user-replaceable without tools. Routine checks of physical mounts and antenna are recommended during scheduled site visits.

Yes — data is transmitted via LoRa/LoRaWAN gateways to cloud endpoints in common data formats and APIs. It integrates with dashboards, alarm systems, asset-management software, and custom webhooks can be configured.

The XHP variant features an external antenna for maximum range (up to 15 km in open terrain), ideal for high-precision applications. The IR variant has an internal antenna for a compact, vandal-resistant design — perfect for rail track monitoring and tight installations.
